What's this?

What’s this?
This is "Day by Day", the section of Heroes & Villains Net that deals with previews, news and rumours,. It’s hosted on a server that runs on software called Manila which allows editing of the site (or "weblog" as they’re referred to), through a users browser which means that I can continually update it with items with a limited amount of hassle. All items entered are handled as discussion postings and therefore any member of the site can post a reply to anything they’ve seen here or start their own thread.

news04.blogfootball.com is the Heroes and Villains newsblog. It contains news, views, previews and match reports on all things concerning Aston Villa. This is the easiest way that we can keep you up to date with Villa news.

How does it work
Each day the "home page" will show the latest news I've added. News items posted each day are accessed by following the link from the calendar to the appropriate day. However, if you click on the "Discuss Postings" link from the menu bar on the left you get a list of ALL the other postings made that day including 'stories' and other discussion postings. From there you'll also have a calendar to navigate around.

Can I join?
Of course you can, click on the "Join Now" icon on the left and away you go. Feel free to post topics, respond to postings and now take part and set up your own surveys.

What will you do with the details I supply?
Nothing. They’re used only to generate a membership list which allows me to send bulletins to everyone if necessary. So far, in 28 months I’ve only sent one.

What’s Heroes & Villains?
Heroes & Villains is a fanzine, written by supporters of the most beautifully named football (please NOT "soccer") team, Aston Villa. It’s been published now for over 13 years and is by far the longest running and largest circulated of all Villa fanzines. To be honest only Stephen Whitehouse’s "Holy Trinity" appears regularly.

What’s Heroes & Villains net
Heroes & Villains net was started over 5 years ago to bring you extracts from the fanzine. Over time it’s blossomed into a site of over 1000 pages. The site is split into 5 distinct sections. The other 4 are as follows:

the fanzine
A selection of articles from the fanzine covering the 10 years of it's existence, how to subscribe and merchandise. More

the website
Items unique to H&V net such as the ever popular Scum of the Month, H&V net guides, polls and of course H&V nets own discussion forums. More

the club
Villa have a glorious history. Find out all about it and the current details of everything going on at Villa Park. More

the weblogs
The newest section of H&V net. Read other Villa supporters' thoughts and feelings. You can even apply to write one yourself to leave your thought to be read by the world. More

Weblogs are the easiest way of letting the world know about who you are and your views. If you would like to write a weblog under the banner of H&V net then follow this link to how to do it. H&V will set it up and host your pages. It's easy. H&V has always been interested in supporters views and now you can submit them on-line.

If you don't want to run a weblog then feel free to "join" this one and then you'll be able to add your thoughts and views about Aston Villa to this site. This is simple too and made possible by this fantastic software. Simply click on the "Join now" link to the left. Go on….. you know you want to
